How often should I clean my rug?
The average rug with normal wear should be cleaned every one to three years, depending on the color of the rug and the amount of traffic it gets. If you have pets, small children or a lot of foot traffic, an annual cleaning may be a good idea.
How do I know when I should have my rug cleaned?
Here are some simple tests to determine if your rug needs to be professionally cleaned:
- Rub your palm on the rug for a couple seconds. If it becomes visibly dirty, it’s time for a cleaning.
- Kneel down and smell the rug. If it smells foul, it’s time for a cleaning.
- Lift a corner of the rug and shake it hard. If you can see a dust cloud, it’s definitely time for a cleaning.
- Fold back a corner of the rug, away from the pile, to expose the base of the fibers. If there is dirt embedded deep in the pile, it’s time for a cleaning.
Is my area rug even worth cleaning?
This is a personal decision that you will have to make. Many of our customers ask themselves this question, weighing their emotional attachment, the cost of cleaning it and the cost of replacing it. In some cases, an entire room is designed around the rug. We offer free estimates and are happy to provide you with guidance as you make a decision.
How long does it take to clean my rug?
Our normal cleaning process for rugs takes between seven and 10 days. Repairs and extra cleaning take more time. For example, pet urine and odor removal will take additional time.
Do I need to move furniture off my rugs prior to arrival?
Our technicians will gladly move most furniture pieces when they pick up your rug. Particularly heavy items (pool tables, etc.) should be moved prior to our arrival. After your rug is cleaned, our technician will place the rug back in your home and replace the furniture free of charge.
Can you store my area rug after it’s cleaned?
We will store your rugs free of charge for the first month after they are cleaned.
How much does it cost to pick up and deliver my rug?
Our pick up and delivery service is free of charge in our service area. You can also drop off and pick up your rug at any of our eight locations.
Can you deliver my area rug to a new address?
If you are moving or would like to have your rugs sent to a new location, our technicians will deliver to a new address as long as it’s in our service area.
Can you wrap my rug for storage?
Yes, your rug will be wrapped properly by our technicians.
Should I have a pad under my rug?
If you have your rug on a hard surface, we recommend that you place a pad under it. A rug pad will extend the life of your rug and make it more comfortable to walk on, as well as prevent it from sliding on the floor.
Do you guarantee pet odor removal from my rug?
Yes. All rugs that are cleaned in our plant and go through our odor removal process have that guarantee.
